to tastenonesea salt flakes (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
Begin by preparing an 8x8 inch baking dish. Line it with parchment paper, ensuring that you leave enough paper hanging over the edges, which will facilitate the easy removal of the fudge later.
In a medium-sized saucepan, place the sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips. Heat on low, stirring continuously. Keep stirring until the chocolate chips are fully melted and incorporated into the milk, resulting in a smooth, glossy mixture.
Remove the saucepan from the heat source and immediately add in the creamy peanut butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir the mixture thoroughly until all the ingredients are well combined and the fudge batter is uniform.
Once well-mixed, pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish. Use a spatula to spread it evenly across the bottom of the dish, ensuring a smooth surface.
If you wish to add a bit of texture and nutty flavor, sprinkle the chopped peanuts generously over the top of the fudge mixture before it sets.
Place the baking dish in the refrigerator and allow the fudge to chill for at least 2 hours, or until it is completely firm and set.
After the fudge has set, carefully lift it out of the dish using the overhanging parchment paper. Transfer it to a cutting board and cut into evenly sized squares.
For an extra touch, you can sprinkle sea salt flakes over the cut squares to enhance the flavor contrast and add a gourmet finish.
Notes
For a gourmet finish, sprinkle sea salt flakes on top before serving.
