Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil to catch drippings and place a wire rack on top.
Prepare the Marinade: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the pure maple syrup, Sriracha sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, along with a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until the marinade is well combined and smooth.
Marinate the Wings: Gently add the chicken wings into the bowl with the marinade. Using tongs or your hands, toss the wings thoroughly until they are completely coated in the flavorful mixture. For maximum flavor, allow them to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or for a more intense taste, marinate them overnight in the refrigerator.
Arrange on the Rack: Once marinated, arrange the chicken wings in a single layer on the prepared wire rack. Ensure that the wings are not touching each other.
Bake the Wings: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the wings for 40-45 minutes. Halfway through the cooking process, flip the wings to promote even browning. For an extra crispy finish, switch to broil mode for the last 2-3 minutes of baking.
Serve: Once the wings are golden brown and crispy, carefully remove them from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes to cool slightly. Then, transfer the wings to a serving platter.
Garnish: To elevate the dish, sprinkle sesame seeds and finely chopped green onions over the wings. Serve with additional Sriracha and maple syrup on the side.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the wings overnight.
